BESS Design Engineer

Preferred candidate profile

Core Responsibilities • Perform battery sizing and capacity estimation based on project requirements (residential, C&I, utility). • Develop Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), load flow studies, and power system schematics. • Select appropriate batteries, inverters, and system components (battery modules, racks, PCS, transformers). • Understand technical specifications for lithium-ion batteries, energy density, DOD, SOC, IR, and other performance parameters. • Prepare technical documentation for BESS systems, including design reports, layouts, SOPs, RFP, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and Specification. • Analyse battery degradation and lifecycle to assist in project lifecycle planning.• Engage with vendors for component sourcing, pricing, and ensuring compliance with design standards. • Review vendor documentation to match project requirements and integration needs. • Ensure that all designs comply with international standards and local regulations (e.g., IEEE, IEC, UL). • Stay updated on industry standards related to energy storage, grid integration, and electrical safety. • Collaborate with project teams for the implementation of BESS solutions, providing engineering support throughout the project lifecycle
