Behaviour Counselor

As a School Counselor, you will be responsible for: - Implementing a comprehensive and developmental guidance and counseling curriculum to assist all students. - Providing individual and group counseling services to address students" developmental, preventive, and remedial needs in areas such as home and family relations, peer relations, school performance, health, and emotional development. - Demonstrating knowledge of counseling theories and selecting appropriate models and techniques for counseling. - Applying assessment and diagnostic procedures to structure individual and group counseling services. - Acting as a liaison between parents, teachers, students, and outside agencies when necessary. - Providing follow-up counseling and consultation to monitor students" conditions. You will also be tasked with: - Establishing the school counseling program, developing activities and resources, and conducting ongoing evaluations. - Initiating and coordinating school-wide guidance and counseling activities. - Managing time effectively and providing services according to schedule. - Maintaining an organized, functional, and up-to-date office/counseling center. - Seeking input from teachers and staff in decision-making about the school counseling program. - Coordinating systemic activities to help students establish personal goals and develop future plans. Additionally, you will be expected to: - Demonstrate knowledge of consulting processes and techniques with students, parents, teachers, and administrators. - Assist parents and teachers in understanding and responding to students" developmental levels. - Present instructional/informational programs to groups of students, parents, and teachers. - Coordinate various events and programs to support students" transition from middle school to high school to post-secondary training and/or employment. - Work with teachers and staff to familiarize them with the range of student services offered by the school district and community.,
