Job Description

To generate new business opportunities, maintain strong client relationships, and drive revenue growth for the engineering contracting business by identifying, developing, and securing contracts in the industrial, infrastructure, and commercial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Acquisition & Revenue Growth

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in engineering contracting services.
  • Develop and execute strategies to meet or exceed sales targets and revenue goals.
  • Prepare, submit, and negotiate tenders, proposals, and bids in coordination with estimating and project teams.

2. Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with developers, consultants, contractors, and government agencies.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for client communications, ensuring prompt responses and professional service.
  • Conduct regular client meetings to understand upcoming projects and requirements.

3. Market Development

  • Research and analyse market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments.
  • Identify and map key decision-makers in target sectors.
  • Recommend pricing strategies and service offerings based on market conditions.

4. Collaboration & Coordination

  • Work closely with engineering, operations, and project management teams to ensure proposals meet technical and commercial requirements.
  • Coordinate with marketing for brand visibility through events, exhibitions, and campaigns.
  • Participate in networking events, trade fairs, and industry conferences.

5. Reporting & Compliance

  • Maintain updated sales pipelines, contact lists, and CRM records.
  • Prepare regular reports on business development activities, leads, and progress.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and safety standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • 5+ years of business development experience in engineering contracting or related construction sectors.
  • Proven ability to secure contracts and grow business revenue.
  • Knowledge of tendering processes, contract laws, and construction industry practices.

Preferred:

  • MBA or postgraduate qualification in business or project management.
  • Strong network of industry contacts within the engineering and construction sectors.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinking with strong problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • High level of professionalism, initiative, and results-driven mindset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
