Role Description

This is a full-time on-site position based in Patna for the role of Banana Agronomist. The selected candidate will conduct research on banana cultivation practices, analyze soil properties, and develop agronomic strategies to enhance productivity. Responsibilities include providing expertise on irrigation, plant nutrition, and crop maintenance to farmers while ensuring sustainable agricultural practices are followed. The role also involves field visits to offer guidance, monitor crop health, and support farmers in adopting innovative farming techniques.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Soil Science and its practical application in agricultural contexts
• Expertise in Agriculture, with emphasis on banana cultivation and sustainable practices
• Understanding of Irrigation methods and strategies to optimize water management
• Ability to conduct Research and apply findings to improve farming practices
• Experience with Plant Nutrition strategies for maximizing crop health and yield
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to educate and collaborate with farmers
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field
• Willingness to work on-site in Patna and travel for fieldwork when required
• Previous experience in banana farming or other horticultural crops is a plus
