We are now expanding our banana cultivation and procurement operations across Bihar, eastern India nothern India. Position Overview We are looking for a qualified and experienced Agronomist specializing in Banana cultivation, with deep knowledge of Bihar's agro-climatic conditions. The role involves field implementation, farmer training, monitoring crop performance, and improving yield and quality standards. The candidate will be based out of Patna HQ and will regularly travel to field sites across districts such as Nalanda, Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, Begusarai, and Bhagalpur. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement scientific banana cultivation practices suited for local soil and climate. Conduct soil and water testing, and prepare fertigation & irrigation schedules. Identify and manage pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies effectively. Supervise nursery development, tissue culture planting, and plantation management. Work closely with farmers, train field supervisors, and ensure good agricultural practices (GAP). Support procurement and quality teams with post-harvest handling guidelines. Maintain detailed reports on field trials, crop growth, and yield performance. Advise management on new banana varieties and best cultivation technologies. Requirements Education: B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Agriculture or Agronomy (specialization in Horticulture or Fruit Science preferred). Experience: Minimum 2-4 years of hands-on experience in banana farming projects in Bihar or Eastern India. Strong knowledge of tissue culture banana (G9, Grand Naine, etc.) and local agronomic challenges. Ability to train farmers and manage field teams. Proficiency in local languages.
