Backend Software Engineer

Backend software engineers at Teleport are responsible for delivering secure and scalable solutions that are seamlessly integrated with both internal and external applications on a large scale. The team is dedicated to the continuous improvement of processes and the sharing of knowledge among passionate individuals. We are currently seeking talented individuals to join our software engineering team within the enterprise domain. As a Backend Software Engineer at Teleport, your responsibilities will include: - Actively participating in an agile scrum team - Implementing test-driven development in assigned projects - Employing source code management strategies that facilitate efficient analysis, review, and integration of code into the pipeline - Prioritizing security, performance, and scalability in all decision-making and contributions - Sharing and documenting knowledge as an integral part of your workflow - Collaborating with multiple teams to deliver innovative software solutions for a rapidly growing business - Promoting and upholding exceptional software engineering practices throughout the engineering team - Exploring and experimenting with new technologies to enhance team capabilities Qualifications and Competencies: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience - 3+ years of experience in software engineering - Proficiency in server-side languages such as Python and Java, along with familiarity in MongoDB, MySQL, and IntelliJ - Knowledge of JavaScript (ES5) and experience in designing and deploying scalable, highly available applications - Hands-on experience in automation, CI/CD tools (Gitlab, Github, TeamCity, Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, Nexus), and Git - Familiarity with Software Release Management and cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, Azure, Docker, VMware/vSphere - Experience with Docker/Kubernetes/Openshift, monitoring software (App-Dynamics, Nagios, SolarWinds), and performance testing tools - Understanding of application logging, monitoring, and performance management tools (AppDynamics, Dynatrace, New Relic) At Teleport, diversity is celebrated, and every individual's unique talents are valued.
