About Us

Perceptive Labs is building the marketplace of autonomous AI agents. Each agent runs 24/7, connects directly to customer data, and delivers measurable business outcomes (recommendations, automations, workflows). We’re early-stage and looking for a Backend / Platform Engineer — Agentic AI Systems, to join us. This role will own the technical backbone of the company and help shape the culture, standards, and product DNA.

Required Skills & Experience

• Python (

  FastAPI, Pydantic

  ) or TypeScript (

  NestJS

  )

• AWS and/or GCP

  production experience
• Strong

  Postgres + SQL

  (schemas, indexing, multi-tenancy)
• Experience with

  pipelines, async jobs, distributed systems

• Docker + CI/CD

  (GitHub Actions or similar)
• Experience shipping

  production systems

  (not just prototypes)

What You’ll Build

• Cloud backend systems on AWS & GCP
• Multi-tenant APIs (FastAPI / NestJS) + Postgres
• Agent execution workflows (Temporal / Celery / async workers)
• Data & event pipelines (Redis Streams, queues, background jobs)
• LLM-powered agentic AI systems (tools, retries, guardrails)
• CI/CD, Docker, deployments, observability

Nice to Have

• Experience with

  Temporal

  ,

  Redis Streams

  , or workflow engines
• Observability tools:

  OpenTelemetry, Langfuse, Sentry

• Experience with

  multi-tenant security models

• Startup or

  0→1 product experience

• Prior work on

  agentic AI systems

Interview Process

Our selection process is designed to assess both technical expertise and cultural alignment:

• Initial Conversation (30 minutes): Introduction, career aspirations, and behavioural assessment.
• Group Technical & Case Study Assessment (90 minutes): Evaluation of problem-solving, system design,workflows, pipelines and applied coding through a structured case study.
• Final Discussion (30 minutes): Role expectations, collaboration style, and growth opportunities.
