Azure Support Technical Lead

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Azure Support Technical Lead to oversee the day-to-day operations and technical support for our Azure infrastructure and related services. The role involves leading a team of support engineers, ensuring timely incident resolution, maintaining operational excellence, and driving continuous improvement in the cloud support process.

The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge in Azure Infrastructure services, hands-on troubleshooting experience, and the ability to mentor and guide team members in a 24x7 support environment.

Location: Bangalore (Work from Office)

Exp: 6 yrs - 10 yrs

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate L2/L3 engineers in managing Azure platform incidents, service requests, and changes.
• Ensure SLA adherence for ticket resolution (P1 15 mins, P2 30 mins response).
• Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues and critical incidents.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive actions.
• Oversee daily health checks, monitoring, and operational tasks across Azure services.
• Collaborate with internal and customer teams for proactive maintenance, patching, and optimization activities.
• Participate in customer calls, status reviews, and technical discussions.
• Maintain documentation for configurations, standard operating procedures, and known error databases.
• Drive automation and efficiency improvements within support processes (e.g., through PowerShell, Logic Apps, or Azure Automation).
• Provide mentorship and training to support engineers to build strong technical capability.
• Work closely with architecture and delivery teams to ensure operational readiness for new deployments.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in

  Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS services

  , including:
• Virtual Machines, Azure Backup, Storage Accounts, Networking (VNet, NSG, VPN, ExpressRoute)
• Active Directory / Entra ID, DNS, GPOs, and AAD Connect
• Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights
• Azure Automation, Update Management, and RBAC
• Azure SQL (platform-level), IIS, RDS, Failover Clustering, File and Storage Services
• Experience with

  Windows Server OS (2012–2022)

  and

  Active Directory troubleshooting

  .
• Knowledge of

  ITIL processes

  (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
• Scripting experience in

  PowerShell

  or

  Python

  for automation and monitoring.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as

  Log Analytics, Sentinel, SCOM

  , or

  third-party tools

  .

• Proven ability to lead a small to mid-sized technical team in a 24x7 support environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage workloads effectively under pressure.
• Analytical and problem-solving mindset with a focus on service improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)

  or

  Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)

  preferred.
• ITIL Foundation certification is a plus.
