Job Description

Azure Data Engineer

Industry & Sector:

High-growth Digital Transformation & Cloud Data Analytics provider serving global enterprises across retail, BFSI, and manufacturing.We leverage Microsoft Azure to deliver mission-critical, real-time analytics platforms that unlock business value from structured and unstructured data at scale.Role & Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines on Azure Data Lake, Databricks, and Synapse for petabyte-scale workloads.
Develop PySpark code for ingestion, transformation, and aggregation, ensuring optimized partitioning and cost-efficient compute.
Implement CI/CD with Azure DevOps and IaC templates to automate infrastructure and deployment.
Monitor data quality, lineage, and performance using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and custom metrics dashboards.
Collaborate with data scientists, product owners, and business stakeholders to translate analytical requirements into production-ready datasets.
Enforce best-practice security patterns: RBAC, managed identities, and encryption at rest/in-flight across all data services.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

3+ years hands-on building data engineering solutions on Azure.
Expertise in PySpark and Delta Lake on Databricks or Synapse Analytics.
Strong SQL skills and proven performance tuning for large datasets.
Proven experience with Azure Data Factory orchestration and ADLS Gen2.
Solid grasp of CI/CD, Git, and automated testing for data pipelines.

Preferred

Knowledge of Power BI or other BI tools for data visualization.
Exposure to Terraform or Bicep for IaC.
Experience hardening cloud environments to meet ISO/SOC compliance.
