Azure Architect

The Azure Architect will serve as a senior technical consultant, responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, cost-efficiency, and resilience of our client's production applications on the Microsoft Azure platform. This role requires a blend of deep technical diagnostic skills and strong consultative abilities to not only identify issues but also to drive the implementation of solutions through collaboration with client technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Performance and Configuration Assessment (Diagnostic)

• Current State Analysis:

  Conduct comprehensive reviews of all production application configurations, underlying infrastructure (IaaS, PaaS), networking, and security settings within the Azure environment.

• Performance Diagnostics:

  Utilize

  Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics

  to analyze application metrics, telemetry, and logs to identify performance bottlenecks.

• Issue Identification:

  Proactively identify and diagnose critical performance issues, including

  high CPU usage, memory leaks, excessive response times, front-end errors, server errors

  , and ineffective scaling mechanisms.

• Root Cause Analysis (RCA):

  Lead detailed Root Cause Analysis for complex, persistent performance and reliability issues, providing clear documentation of findings and technical impact.

2. Solution Design and Implementation Drive (Optimization)

• Strategic Solutioning:

  Develop and propose clear, actionable, and well-architected solutions to resolve identified issues, aligning with the

  Azure Well-Architected Framework

  .

• Optimization Roadmaps:

  Design and prioritize tactical and strategic improvements covering resource scaling, database optimization, network configuration, and application code/architecture adjustments.

• Implementation Oversight:

  Work in partnership with DevOps and Development teams to ensure the successful, measurable, and validated implementation of all proposed solutions.

3. Communication and Stakeholder Management (Consultative)

• Client Communication:

  Serve as the primary technical liaison, clearly communicating complex technical findings, risks, and recommended solutions to both

  technical teams and non-technical client executives/stakeholders.

• Action Item Ownership:

  Drive the prioritization and completion of all solution action items by effectively influencing client teams and managing expectations across organizational boundaries.

• Reporting & Presentation:

  Prepare and deliver professional presentations and detailed reports summarizing performance metrics, issues identified, solution roadmaps, and the measurable return on investment (ROI) from performance improvements.

Required Qualifications

• Experience:

  Overall 10+ year of experience with 5+ years in cloud architecture or a similar consulting role, with a strong focus on

  performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting

  in large-scale Azure production environments.

• Platform Expertise:

  Deep, hands-on expertise with core Azure services, including App Service, AKS, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Networking, and Security features.

• IaC Proficiency:

  Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as

  Terraform or Azure Resource Manager (ARM)/Bicep

  .

• Certifications:

  Microsoft Certified:

  Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)

  is highly preferred.
