Title: AWS FinOps Specialist / Manager

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced AWS FinOps professional to opmize cloud costs, improve financial

accountability, and enable efficient cloud resource ulizaon. This role bridges engineering, finance,

and procurement to ensure cost transparency and governance across AWS environments.

Key Responsibilies

Monitor and analyze AWS usage and spending paerns using tools like AWS Cost Explorer,

CloudWatch, and third-party FinOps plaorms.

Develop and maintain cost dashboards, reports, and forecasts for leadership.

Implement cost opmizaon strategies: rightsizing, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, Spot

Instances.

Establish and enforce tagging standards and governance policies for resource accountability.

Collaborate with engineering teams to design cost-efficient architectures.

Automate cost alerts and anomaly detecon for proacve management.

Partner with finance to align cloud spend with budgets and business objecves.

Educate stakeholders on FinOps best pracces and promote a culture of cost awareness.

Required Skills & Qualificaons

Technical Experse:

Strong knowledge of AWS services and pricing models.

Experience with cost management tools (AWS Cost Explorer, CloudHealth, Cloudability).

Familiarity with scripng (Python, Bash) and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CloudFormaon).

Financial Acumen:

Budgeng, forecasng, and financial modeling experience.

Analycal Skills:

Proficiency in data analysis and visualizaon tools (Power BI, Tableau, Excel).

Cerficaons (Preferred):

AWS Cerfied Soluons Architect or Cloud Praconer.

FinOps Cerfied Praconer.

Experience:

46 years in cloud cost management;

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Percentage reducon in monthly AWS spend.

Forecast accuracy within 5–10%.

Resource tagging compliance (>90%).

Savings achieved through opmizaon iniaves.
