Job Description

As an AVP - Risk and Control Analytics at HSBC, you will play a crucial role in managing risk and ensuring control effectiveness within the GPW & WPS business unit. Your responsibilities will include: - Engaging in 1LOD risk management projects/BAU such as Issue Management, Control Monitoring activities, Risk and Control Assessments, and more. - Prioritizing tasks like Audit/Assurance Readiness, Operational Resilience projects/BAU, with a focus on quality deliverables and meeting timelines. - Validating the design and operating effectiveness of key controls through various methods like inspection, inquiry, observation, sampling, and recalculation. - Reviewing risks and key controls through process walkthroughs, thematic reviews, data-driven reviews, and evidence reviews. - Ensuring accurate and effective control assessments that comply with procedures, templates, and quality control requirements. - Assisting in the implementation of new risk in line with RTCL runway for the business within EMEA. - Providing emerging risks and controls knowledge, understanding industry standards, and benchmarking. - Identifying trends to anticipate future developments in the risk and control environment, including Financial Crimes risks, Resilience risks, Regulatory risks, and more. - Participating in automation projects to improve process efficiency and development. - Conducting 1LOD testing of controls based on fit-for-purpose, reviewing quality of controls, and ensuring compliance with Technical User Guide (TUG) requirements. Qualifications required for this role: - Good understanding of operational risk and controls, preferably gained through experience in front line and risk management roles. - Knowledge of the Operational Risk Framework. - Strong interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management, including influencing senior stakeholders. - Proven problem-solving skills and ability to consider alternative solutions. - Highly developed communication skills with a collaborative approach. - Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and prioritize business risk deliverables. - Knowledge of changing regulatory requirements for EMEA and Private Banking and Wealth business. - Detail-oriented, result-focused, proficient in Microsoft Office Package, including Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. - Skillset in digitalization and data analytics is an advantage. - Motivated team player with a flexible approach.
