AVP, Cloud Engineering

As an AVP, Cloud Engineering at Synchrony, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between software development and operations by creating an environment for efficient development, testing, and deployment of software. Your responsibilities will include: - Collaborating with Infra, platform, and operations teams to improve the IaC development and deployment process - Implementing version control strategies and best practices to ensure code and configuration consistency - Advocating for security best practices for cloud services and AWS environments - Optimizing cloud environments for performance, scalability, and resource utilization - Automating repetitive tasks and processes using scripts and tools like Terraform IaC, Ansible, or Chef - Ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements - Monitoring and optimizing system performance and capacity - Staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies - Assisting with 24x7 Service Desk providing local and remote services with measurable KPIs Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or related field with 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure OR in lieu of a degree, 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure - Minimum of 5+ years of cloud experience or cloud architecture - Proficiency with IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation - Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Terraform Enterprise - Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP; AWS Certification is preferred In addition to these responsibilities and qualifications, you will be working in the Cloud & Platform group as part of the CTO organization at Synchrony.
