As an AVP, Cloud Engineering at Synchrony, you play a crucial role in bridging the gap between software development and operations. Your responsibilities involve creating an environment for efficient development, testing, and deployment of software, ensuring the smooth operation of systems and services. - Collaborate with Infra, platform, and operations teams to enhance the IaC development and deployment process - Implement version control strategies and best practices for code and configuration consistency - Advocate for security best practices for cloud services and AWS environments, including RBAC, network policies, and image scanning - Optimize cloud environments for performance, scalability, and resource utilization - Automate repetitive tasks and processes using tools like Terraform IaC, Ansible, Chef, or other programming languages - Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements - Monitor and optimize system performance and capacity - Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies - Assist in the 24x7 Service Desk providing local and remote services with a high level of customer satisfaction and measurable KPIs - Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred but not required with 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure - Minimum of 5+ years of cloud experience or cloud architecture - Expertise in designing, implementing, and securing network environments across Business Centers, Physical & Virtual Data Centers - Proficiency with IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation - Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Terraform Enterprise - Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, preferably AWS Certified - Recommended AWS Certifications: AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate, AWS Certified DevOps Administrator - Professional, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate Joining Synchrony as an AVP, Cloud Engineering offers Enhanced Flexibility and Choice with work timings from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM IST. You will be required to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time to 11:30 AM Eastern Time for meetings with India and US teams, with the remaining hours being flexible for you to choose.
