Automobile Technical Manager (CoTek)

Job Title: CoTEK – Technical Expert / Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the technical reference at the dealership/workshop: diagnose complex vehicle problems which technicians cannot resolve, liaise with OEM technical support. For example, one job posting describes “To resolve all complex technical problems which could not be resolved by technicians/eTEKs.”
• Conduct root-cause analysis of repeat repairs / warranty complaints; initiate corrective actions and feedback to OEM.
• Train and mentor workshop technical staff and technicians: prepare skill matrix, plan classroom/on-the-job training (OJT) and act as in-house trainer.
• Maintain/organize the technical library, service bulletins, updates on new product aggregates, diagnostics tools, repair manuals etc.
• Ensure service workshop adheres to OEM technical standards, safety norms, best practices (3S – Sort, Set in order, Shine), housekeeping and quality control.
• Assist in communications with OEM (M&M) technical / service teams for escalations, product issues, recalls, service campaigns.
• Support the workshop in achieving service KPIs: first-time fix rate, customer concerns, warranty claims, service quality. (Often implied in job postings for “CoTEK” role)
• Maintain technical documentation, generate reports for repeat issues, share best practices among service team.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma / Degree in Automobile / Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). Some jobs may request BE/BTech.
• Experience: Typically 2-5 years (sometimes 5+ years) in automobile service or workshop environment, with exposure to vehicle diagnostics / repairs / warranty.
• Strong diagnostic & troubleshooting ability in four-wheeler vehicles: engine, transmissions, electronics, vehicle systems.
• Familiarity with diagnostic scanners, service manuals, OEM tools, technical bulletins.
• Good communication skills and ability to train/mentor others.
• Ability to liaise with OEM and service management.
• Good organizational, documentation and problem-analysis skills.
• Willing to travel (often to other dealerships or OEM technical center) where needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹23,000.00 - ₹28,000.00 per month
