Quality Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the

    Quality Department

    covering incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the

    Quality Management System (QMS)

    in accordance with

    IATF 16949, ISO 9001

    , and customer-specific requirements.
  • Oversee

    supplier quality assurance (SQA)

    and coordinate supplier audits and performance reviews.
  • Review and approve

    control plans, PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC

    documentation.
  • Drive

    root cause analysis (RCA)

    and

    Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)

    for internal and external quality issues.
  • Monitor and analyze

    process quality, rejection trends, and customer complaints

    ; implement improvement actions.
  • Coordinate with

    Design, Production, and Maintenance

    teams to ensure process capability and product conformance.
  • Prepare and present

    monthly quality performance reports

    and metrics to management.
  • Lead

    internal and external audits

    , ensuring timely closure of non-conformities.
  • Manage calibration of

    measuring instruments and gauges

    as per schedule.
  • Promote a culture of

    quality awareness, problem-solving, and continuous improvement (Kaizen, 5S, Poka-Yoke).

  • Train and mentor the

    quality team

    to build technical capability and process discipline.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of

    IATF 16949 / ISO 9001

    standards and automotive quality systems.
  • Hands-on experience in

    APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC

    , and

    8D problem-solving

    .
  • Experience in managing

    customer audits, supplier quality

    , and internal quality reviews.
  • Proficiency in using

    quality tools and techniques

    such as 7 QC tools, Pareto analysis, Fishbone diagram, and 5 Whys.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and resolve quality issues under pressure.
  • Knowledge of

    CMM, profile projectors, and precision measuring instruments.

  • Proficiency in

    MS Office, Excel-based dashboards, and ERP / QMS software

    preferred.

Educational Qualification:

  • B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Automobile, or Industrial Engineering

  • Certification in Quality Management / Six Sigma / Lead Auditor (ISO or IATF)

    preferred

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Internal and external rejection rate (PPM)
  • Customer complaint resolution time and satisfaction score
  • Audit compliance and NC closure timelines
  • Supplier performance and incoming quality
  • Cost of poor quality (COPQ) reduction
  • Continuous improvement initiatives implemented
