Automation Developer

Role & responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams, including business analysts and product owners, to understand project requirements and translate user stories into detailed test plans and test cases aligned with workflows. Conduct both manual and automated testing of web-based financial applications using Java, Selenium, and frameworks like Data Driven or Cucumber.
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts to support efficient regression testing, ensuring high test coverage across trading, settlement, and compliance modules. Develop and execute manual test cases based on functional and business requirements, particularly for fund lifecycle events, NAV calculations, and order processing. Perform functional, regression, system integration, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate end-to-end investment processes.Identify, document, and track defects using tools like JIRA, ensuring clear communication and traceability throughout the defect lifecycle. Work closely with developers and product stakeholders to prioritize and resolve defects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software. Participate in test planning, effort estimation, and risk assessments, contributing to strategic QA decisions. Conduct API testing using tools like Postman, validating data exchange between trading systems, fund managers, and custodians. Ensure adherence to QA best practices, methodologies, and compliance standards relevant to investment banking. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior QA engineers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement. Continuously enhance the QA process by identifying opportunities for automation, improving test coverage, and adopting industry best practices. Stay current with emerging trends, tools, and technologies in software testing and investment banking.
