AutoCAD Design Electrical engineer

We are seeking an accurate and detail-oriented AutoCAD Electrical Drafter with ~1 year of hands-on experience to produce electrical drawings, assist engineers, and support project documentation for building and industrial electrical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Create and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, single-line diagrams (SLD), and cable schedules using AutoCAD.
• Draft control panel and layout drawings from engineering sketches and specifications.
• Convert hand sketches or PDF diagrams into clean, editable AutoCAD drawings.
• Maintain drawing standards, layer conventions, block libraries and title blocks.
• Prepare BOQs / material takeoffs from drawings (basic quantities).
• Coordinate with electrical engineers, site teams, and other disciplines to incorporate revisions.
• Ensure drawings comply with company standards and applicable codes/specifications.
• Support as-built drawing updates after installation and handover.
• Archive and version-control drawings in the project folder/PLM system.

Required skills & qualifications

• 0.5–2 years (ideal: ~1 year) of professional experience drafting electrical drawings.
• Proficient in AutoCAD (2D) — able to produce accurate schematics, layouts, and annotation.
• Good understanding of electrical symbols, single-line diagrams, wiring practices, earthing, and basic protection devices (MCB, MCCB, relays).
• Familiarity with panel layouts, cable routing, and conduit/ducting basics.
• Comfortable reading electrical schematics and BOMs.
• Basic knowledge of electrical standards (IEC/IS/NEC as applicable).
• Strong attention to detail, neatness in annotation, and good file organisation practices.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with engineers and site teams.
• Diploma / ITI / B.Tech (Electrical/Electronics) or equivalent technical qualification.

Good-to-have

• Exposure to AutoCAD Electrical module or electrical CAD libraries.
• Experience with Revit MEP or EPLAN (advantageous).
• Basic familiarity with PLC I/O lists and control wiring.
• Experience preparing as-built drawings and site survey documentation.
• Basic MS Excel skills for BOQ and cable schedules.

• Accurate set of electrical drawings delivered on time with <2% rework due to drafting errors.
• Well-maintained drawing library and version history for assigned projects.
• Timely support for site queries and updated as-built drawings within agreed SLA.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
