Job Summary

We’re seeking a detail-oriented 2D Designer with strong AutoCAD skills to produce accurate production drawings for our custom sofa lines. You’ll translate conceptual sketches and client requirements into comprehensive technical drawings and shop-floor documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings for all sofa components, including frames, cushions, and hardware layout
• Develop production-ready shop drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials) and assembly instructions
• Collaborate with design team and project managers to clarify dimensions, materials, and construction methods
• Ensure all drawings comply with manufacturing tolerances and quality standards
• Revise and update drawings based on prototyping feedback or design changes
• Maintain organized drawing libraries and version control

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical/Industrial Design, Interior Design, or related field
• 2+ years of hands-on 2D drafting experience in furniture or upholstery production
• Expert proficiency in AutoCAD (creating, editing, layering, and annotating drawings)
• Strong understanding of furniture manufacturing processes and materials
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances
• Good communication skills to liaise with designers, engineers, and workshop teams

Nice-to-Have

• Familiarity with sheet metal or timber fabrication drawings
• Exposure to 3D CAD tools (e.g., SketchUp, SolidWorks)
• Experience in upholstery detailing (stitch lines, seam allowances)
