Job Description

Position: Asst.Mnger/Dy.Mnger-Production

Location: Midnapore, West Bengal

Targeted production

  • Plays vital role in achieving the targeted production by continuous observation of the machine parameters, ensuring preventive and predictive maintenance and by engaging manpower etc.
  • Ensures approved strength available in the department. Plans the manpower to each relay.
  • Ensures rotation of the manpower and ensures distribution of skilled manpower in each relay.
  • Verifies green stage moisture, Raw Material content, green stage density, dry sheet density at destacker end and ensures maintenance of desired standards.
  • Ensures milled fibre moisture and buoyancy (Milled Fibre and Wet Opener) as per desired standards.
  • Ensures proper feeding of raw material in the process as per the furnish card.

Raw material testing results verification

  • Checks the Raw material test results and ensures desired standards.
  • Interacts with Quality Control regarding Raw Material (RM) scales and ensures nil deviation with the co-ordination of Mechanical and Electrical. Cross checks RM Feeding physical and auto.

Spare Management and Review Consumption and Inventory Management

  • Focuses on the quality of material and Monitors the material utilisation daily in the process department. Ensures usage of correct material for proper usage during machine and breakdown.
  • Reviews the monthly consumables and controls of consumption and inventory.
  • Raises the indents or purchase requisition of Process department.

Preventive Maintenance.

  • Planning and implementing of daily, weekly and monthly preventive maintenance of Process equipment and execute the same.
  • Allocates the manpower for verification of checklist.
  • Reviews the daily works and monthly works in Process department.
  • Ensures Standard Operating Procedures implementation in the process department.

Breakdowns Review and trouble shooting

  • Interacts daily with shift Supervisors and operators and takes feedback reasons for Breakdowns.
  • Reviews breakdowns and implements root cause analysis. Ensures maximum reduction of repeated breakdowns.

Process records maintain and review

  • Ensures the maintenance of Production Log Book with all quality & Process parameters.
  • Maintains Felt life and tonnage record.
  • Maintains Anvil roller life and tonnage records.
  • Interaction with Q.C for preparation of Furnish card

  • Interacts with QC in preparation of Furnish Card and ensures its strict implementation.
  • Displays furnish card and informs to shift supervisors for strict implementation.
  • Verifies frequently Furnish card and ensures RM is going as per the furnish card.

Cost saving activities

  • Creates awareness to workers and staff cost saving activities. Displays various items cost in front of the stores department.
  • Ensures overtime reduction by proper manpower planning.
  • Ensures proper utilization of contract workers.
  • Ensures desired felt and top covers life by continuous monitoring.
  • Monitors Template Oil consumption and ensures the targeted consumption.

Regular analysis of IPR, WH, DED, Net loss.

  • Interacts daily with Supervisors and QC team and takes previous shifts IPR and WH details and reviews and takes corrective action immediately.
  • Informs previous day IPR, WH and DED details to the shift supervisors and operators and develops awareness among them.
  • Takes precautions to reduce IPR and WH.
  • Motivates and asks suggestions from operators to reduce the rejection percentage. Also awards best suggestion employees in co-ordination with HR Department.
  • Takes DED report from Despatch department and analyses the same.
  • Forms quality circle and ensures its implementation to reduce the rejections.

5 S, Kaizen and Suggestion implementation activities

  • Participates in the 5s meetings weekly and implements the 5S, TPM in the department.
  • Reviews the suggestions with suggestion committee and implements the same.
  • Encourages the employees and motivates them in giving suggestions and Kaizens.
