Job Description

Role Overview: As an Associate Teacher, your role is to support the Lead Teacher in the implementation of curriculum, classroom activities, and ensuring students" academic growth. You will be responsible for assisting with lesson plans, supporting students individually or in groups, and maintaining a productive classroom environment. Key Responsibilities: - Assist the Lead Teacher in managing the classroom and maintaining order. - Help deliver lessons, assisting with activities and explaining concepts to students. - Support small group or individual student work to reinforce lesson content. - Supervise students during group work, independent study, or other classroom activities. - Prepare learning materials, resources, and classroom setups for daily lessons. - Provide individualized help to students who may need extra attention or have special learning needs. - Support the implementation of teaching strategies for diverse learners, ensuring inclusive education. - Help maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment. - Assist with classroom routines and behavioral management strategies. - Supervise students during non-classroom times (recess, lunch, etc.) to ensure safety and order. - Assist in assessing student work through grading and tracking academic progress. - Provide feedback to students under the guidance of the Lead Teacher. - Record and monitor student performance and report on any areas of concern to the Lead Teacher. - Assist with communication between parents and school, including providing updates about student progress. - Collaborate with colleagues, school staff, and administrators to create a positive learning environment. - Attend staff meetings and participate in professional development opportunities. - Help with administrative tasks such as preparing reports, maintaining student records, and organizing classroom materials. - Support the coordination of school events or extracurricular activities when needed. Qualifications: - Education: Typically a degree in education or a related field, though some positions may require specific subject knowledge. - Experience: Previous experience in an educational setting or with children is preferred but not always required. - Skills: - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents. - Patience and the ability to address a variety of student needs. - Organizational skills and attention to detail. - Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic classroom environment.
