Associate Professor Microbiology

Position Summary:

The Department of [Biological Sciences / Microbiology] at [University Name] invites applications for a full-time Associate Professor position in Microbiology. Key Responsibilities:Teaching & Mentorship:

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in microbiology and related subjects.
• Supervise research projects, theses, and dissertations.
• Mentor and advise students in academic and professional development.

Research:

• Develop and maintain an independent, high-quality research program.
• Pursue external funding through grants and research collaborations.
• Publish in peer-reviewed scientific journals and present at academic conferences.

Service:

• Serve on departmental, college, and university committees.
• Participate in curriculum development and academic planning.
• Contribute to outreach and community engagement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• MBBS + MD, Ph.D. in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching and curriculum development.
• A strong record of peer-reviewed publications in microbiology.
• Evidence of obtaining external research funding.
• Experience supervising undergraduate and/or graduate research.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Postdoctoral experience.
• Demonstrated leadership in academic or research initiatives.
• Interdisciplinary research experience.
• Experience with modern microbiological techniques (e.g., genomics, bioinformatics, microbial ecology, or pathogenesis).
