Associate Professor Microbiology

Job Summary:

The Department of Microbiology at [University Name] is seeking a qualified and dynamic individual for the position of Associate Professor in Microbiology. Key Responsibilities:Teaching & Mentorship:

• Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in microbiology (e.g., general microbiology, medical microbiology, microbial genetics, virology, immunology, etc.).
• Supervise and mentor graduate (MSc/PhD) students and postdoctoral researchers.
• Develop innovative and inclusive instructional materials and laboratory exercises.
• Participate in curriculum development and program assessment.

Research:

• Conduct original, high-quality research in microbiology or related areas.
• Publish research findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
• Apply for and secure external research funding (grants/fellowships).
• Lead collaborative research initiatives within and outside the university.

Academic Service:

• Serve on departmental, faculty, and university committees.
• Contribute to outreach, community engagement, and professional development programs.
• Participate in academic events such as seminars, conferences, and workshops.
• Support departmental accreditation and quality assurance processes.

Qualifications: Essential:

• MD in Microbiology or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 5–7 years of teaching and research experience at the university level.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching and student engagement.
• Strong publication record in high-impact microbiology journals.
• Experience in supervising graduate student research.
• Proven ability to obtain and manage competitive research funding.

Qualification - MBBS, MS/MD
