Position Overview:
Develop, design, and maintain visual databases for flight simulators used in pilot training and engineering development. This role involves creating realistic, high-fidelity visual databases and the software targeted for rendering high-resolution, low-latency, multi-channel, out-the-window imagery for simulation cabs and small scale flight deck systems.
The engineer works with complex graphical systems to accurately simulate terrain, airport markings, lighting, signage, and buildings according to strict aviation standards.
Position Responsibilities :
Conceptualizes, creates, designs, and modifies detailed illustrations, graphics, full color animations and interactive electronic media. Conducts research and analysis of source data or designs to inform illustration and graphics creation. Guides, instructs, creates and maintains illustration and graphics development standards, processes, and procedures for support engineering products and services. Maintains and stores illustration and graphics for accessibility. Ensures product compliance with applicable standards and specifications. Investigates emerging technologies, techniques, tools, and processes.

Database Development: Create and maintain visual databases of terrain, airports, and objects using specialized software to meet technical and regulatory requirements.

Performance Optimization: Analyze and debug visual database performance issues to ensure a smooth, realistic visual experience with high fidelity and detail.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the visual system meets strict regulatory standards set by bodies like the FAA or EASA.

Testing and Validation: Conduct and execute Qualification Test Guides (QTGs) to verify the visual databases accuracy and performance.

Continuous Improvement: Research and implement new techniques and technologies, such as new 3d model formats, to improve visual fidelity and realism.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor's or master's degree is required as a basic qualification in computer science, computer graphics, aerospace engineering or any engineering domain.

Experience in 3D computer graphics, real-time rendering, and visual simulation.

Experience and proficiency with 3D hard surface modeling, Low Poly game engine optimization techniques, and procedural texturing.

Experience with visual database tools and model creation, such as Blender, TerraVista, Creator, or Global Mapper.

Experience and proficiency with Unity, Unreal or equivalent environments.

Familiarity with simulation platforms and real-time operating systems.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex software and hardware systems.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
