What are the Key Deliverables in this role
Evaluation and Validation Identify and implement cost optimization strategies across TCG Packing units for various formats including sachets, pouches, jars, and tins.
Drive cost efficiency initiatives by focusing on reducing fixed cost per kilogram and variable cost per metric ton in manufacturing operations.
Enhance OTIF (On-Time In-Full) and fill rates across all distribution channels.
Ensure timely closure of quality and stock audits.
Maintain compliance with Food Safety and Quality standards of the unit s certification requirement, minimizing deviations and customer complaints per million units.
Promote team engagement by fostering a culture of collaboration, execution excellence, and a growth mindset.
What are the Critical success factors for the Role

1. Packing Process & Machinery Expertise
- In-depth understanding of coffee packaging formats (pouches, jars, sachets, vacuum packs, and tins).
- Knowledge of packing line equipment, including filling machines, sealing machines, labeling, and barcoding systems.
- Troubleshooting machine issues, reducing downtime, and improving efficiency through predictive maintenance.
- Familiarity with automation technologies like SCADA, PLC-based systems (Siemens, Schneider), and IoT-enabled monitoring.

2. Production Planning & Efficiency Management
- Optimizing packing schedules to align with production demand and minimize delays.
- Reducing wastage of packaging material through accurate measurements and process improvements.
- Implementing Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Six Sigma techniques to enhance efficiency.
- Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) like Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), rejection rate, and cycle time.

3. Quality & Compliance Assurance
- Ensuring packaging integrity (seal quality, material compatibility, and product protection). Compliance with ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP, and FSSAI food safety regulations.
- Conducting quality inspections on printed materials, labels, barcodes, and expiry date accuracy.
- Ensuring traceability of packaged products through batch coding and tracking systems.

4. Safety & Risk Management
- Enforcing Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) protocols to prevent accidents.
- Ensuring proper handling and storage of packaging materials to reduce fire hazards.
- Conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and emergency preparedness training for the team.
- Implementing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures for safe maintenance practices.

5. People Leadership & Cross-functional Coordination
- Managing packing line operators, supervisors, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth workflow.
- Conducting training programs for skill enhancement, machine handling, and safety awareness.
- Collaborating with production, quality assurance, procurement, and supply chain teams for seamless operations.
What are the Desirable success factors for the Role
- Bachelor of engineering in Chemical / Mechanical / Electrical/Food Science streams. PGD/Certification in Operations/Material management is an added advantage.
- To have a minimum 5 years experience in managing end-to-end packing operations and packing processes/Equipment and Technology Proficiency/Production Planning and Scheduling/Quality Assurance and Control/Inventory and Material Management/Manpower Planning and Management/Process Improvement and Optimization/Machine performance Data Analysis and Reporting/Change Management and Adaptability/Cross-Functional Collaboration. (or) Have a minimum of 5 years experience dealing with Production planning for OTIF optimization and Stocks control activities like Stock reviews for effective utilizations, Stock audits (Internal & External) and dealing with SAP accordingly.
