Associate HW Component Owner

Your Future Team

You ll become part of a global, collaborative, cross-functional team consisting of System Design Engineers, Hardware and Software Component Owners, and Release Managers. With key teams based in Sweden, India, and Japan, we bring together diverse expertise to develop and deploy advanced embedded systems for commercial vehicles. We operate in an agile environment that encourages open communication, continuous learning.

As a Hardware Component owner for ECUs & LIN based electronic components, you will contribute in transforming our strategic alliance into a long-term, collaborative partnership that drives both business success and societal impact. You will accelerate the development and deployment of shared innovations, contributing to the creation of highly reliable, affordable embedded technologies, below are key responsibilities.

• Act as the configuration owner for assigned ECU hardware components across the full vehicle lifecycle.


• Represent the ECU node in cross-functional discussions related to hardware/software integration, validation, and issue resolution.


• Ensure hardware variants are correctly coded and traceable across different vehicle configurations.


• Manage and maintain HW part numbers, variant logic, and replacement chains in KOLA.


• Collaborate with Hardware Component Owners to define and document sub-HW dependencies and compatibility rules.


• Maintain accurate documentation of calibration needs, download times, and other Product class-specific routines for use in production and aftermarket.


• Create and deliver Node Templates (NTPs) as part of ECU release documentation in SW Configurator.


• Ensure that all hardware configuration data meets quality, traceability, and release standards for assigned product classes.

• Bachelor s degree in electronic engineering.


• 1 3 years of experience in the automotive industry, preferably with OEM / Tier 1 supplier in hardware engineering.

• Understanding of ECU hardware architecture and lifecycle management.


• Hands-on experience with Volvo s internal toolchain: KOLA, SW Configurator, SEWS, SANTA/MoJ, or comparable systems.

• knowledge of automotive diagnostic standards (UDS, DTCs)


• Understanding of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN.


• Experience with hardware interface requirements; Technical Requirements


• Ability to interpret system-level and component-level requirements


• Documentation skills for managing configuration traceability and compliance.


• Good cross-functional communication and coordination skills
