As a member of Private Lending Underwriting (PLU) team with Goldman Sachs Private Bank in Bengaluru, you will play a crucial role in underwriting loans for GS Private Wealth Management (PWM) clients. Your responsibilities will include assessing, underwriting, documenting, and monitoring credit and business risks involved in loan transactions. You will be involved in analyzing borrowers" financial conditions, evaluating collateral securing the loan, identifying risks, and ensuring compliance with underwriting standards. Additionally, you will participate in business-related initiatives such as new product development and operational enhancements. Key Responsibilities: - Evaluate all risk and economic implications of transactions using strong analytical and technical skills - Collaborate with the Regional Lending Team to provide advice and develop solutions for clients within acceptable risk parameters - Develop a comprehensive understanding of the product suite offered in Private Lending and maintain consistency in the underwriting process - Document loan structures and analysis for credit approval and file documentation purposes - Monitor compliance with covenant and collateral monitoring procedures - Maintain credit files and document loan approvals and policy exceptions appropriately - Interact with banking regulators when necessary and provide support for GS Bank USA's loan portfolio - Foster effective communication with Regional Private Lending teams, Credit Risk Management, PWM teams, clients, and GS Bank USA personnel Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred for a more senior role) - CPA or CFA certification is a plus - 3+ years of work experience in a financial field with relevant experience in commercial banking or private banking underwriting - Strong knowledge of financial accounting, analysis, and modeling - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Proficiency in project management, multitasking, and work organization - Flexible, personable, confident, and self-motivated with a focus on teamwork - Desire to contribute to a dynamic and growing business About Goldman Sachs: Goldman Sachs is a leading global investment banking, securities, and investment management firm committed to helping clients, shareholders, and communities grow.
