Job Description

As an Investment Associate at Morgan Stanley, your role will involve providing support to the Global Investment Manager Analysis (GIMA) team by conducting due diligence on various investment strategies offered by third-party investment managers. Your responsibilities will include: - Supporting and assisting in the due diligence process by reviewing documentation and participating in conference calls with investment managers. - Analyzing managers based on their investment process, portfolio construction, and risk management capabilities. - Evaluating managers" historical return profiles and performance attribution. - Preparing written reports and commentaries on different managers. - Presenting findings and results to onshore GIMA analysts. In addition to these core functions, your ongoing activities will involve adhering to policies and procedures for continuous due diligence, identifying upgrade/downgrade candidates, interacting with onshore GIMA team members, and staying updated on industry trends, regulatory matters, and market events. To excel in this role, you should possess: - Knowledge of mutual fund, SMA, and ETF vehicles with a willingness to expand your skillset across investment strategies and products. - 3-5 years of experience in the financial markets, preferably with knowledge of traditional investment strategies and experience in investment due diligence. - Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to draft internal memoranda and detailed reports. - Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with a detail-oriented and multi-tasking approach. - The ability to summarize large amounts of information accurately under pressure and efficiently collaborate with onshore GIMA analysts. - A proactive attitude towards learning and working within a close-knit team. - An undergraduate degree is required, while an MBA, CFA (at least level 1), and/or CAIA are viewed favorably but not mandatory.
