Associate Engineering Director, Properties

You will be a part of Marriott Tech Accelerator, which is a division of Marriott International, a renowned global leader in the hospitality industry. Marriott International, Inc. is a prominent American multinational corporation that operates various lodging brands, including hotels and residential properties, with over 30 well-known brands and nearly 8,900 properties located across 141 countries and territories. Your main responsibilities will include providing technical leadership and ensuring successful delivery of software and architectural projects. You will collaborate with stakeholders to assess complexity, estimate infrastructure needs, plan capacity, develop program timelines, and address dependencies. Your role will involve setting program milestones, communicating risks, progress, and launch readiness transparently, and identifying potential technical risks to mitigate them effectively. As a key technical leader, you will be responsible for shaping the long-term technology strategy for Marriott's infrastructure, enabling collaboration on application initiatives, and supporting the development and operationalization of cloud solutions. You will also maintain relationships with cloud vendors, drive architecture and engineering practices, and lead technical projects across teams within Marriott. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in fostering learning and knowledge sharing within the organization, driving technical projects, refining solutions based on client feedback, and communicating complex technical topics effectively. Your responsibilities will extend to managing IT governance, service provider relationships, projects, priorities, and human resources activities. To excel in this role, you should have 10-12 years of senior IT leadership experience, with a strong technical background, customer-centric mindset, and experience in managing cloud engineering solutions. You should also possess expertise in managing direct reports and service provider teams, as well as hands-on experience with public cloud technology stacks such as AWS, Azure, Alibaba, and GCP. Furthermore, you should demonstrate proficiency in leading technical teams, problem-solving, relationship-building, and driving change. Your qualifications should include a graduate degree in a technical discipline, ITILv4 certification, and experience operating in Agile or SAFE frameworks.
