Job Description

As an Associate Database Administrator at NTT DATA, you will be an entry-level subject matter expert responsible for assisting in daily database administration tasks. Your main duties will include database monitoring, backup and recovery, user management, and data maintenance. You will work closely with Change Control, Release Management, Asset and Configuration Management, and Capacity and Availability Management to address user needs and ensure database security. Your key responsibilities will include assisting with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of database management systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or others as required. You will collaborate with software developers/architects to design and optimize database schemas and data models. Additionally, you will participate in writing database documentation, monitoring database performance, and implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies. To succeed in this role, you should have a basic proficiency in database administration tasks, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning. You should also possess knowledge of SQL and database security principles. Effective communication and collaboration skills are essential for working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Additionally, you should be able to troubleshoot database-related issues and implement effective solutions. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as MCSE DBA, Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or others are preferred. Entry-level experience working as a Database Administrator within an Information Technology organization is required.
