Job Description

Role Overview

You will support the QA Manager in ensuring high-quality product releases. Your job includes planning and executing quality assurance tasks, overseeing metrics and reporting, identifying, mitigating risks, and helping the QA team grow. Youll also collaborate closely with other teams to maintain processes and improve continuously.

Key Responsibilities.

  • Support the QA Manager in planning and executing QA strategy spanning manual, automated, and integration testing.
  • Lead, mentor, and coach QA engineers/testers; assign tasks, balance workload, and drive team productivity.
  • Define, measure, and report on key QA metrics such as:
  • Test coverage (manual & automated)
  • Defect density & defect leakage into production
  • Mean time to detect/resolve defects
  • Pass/fail rates, automation ROI, release readiness / quality gate metrics
  • Maintain dashboards & regular reports (weekly, monthly) to share QA status, trends, issues, and improvements with stakeholders (Product, Engineering, Management).
  • Use Azure DevOps for test case management, defect tracking, reporting dashboards, maintaining test suites, and managing test execution.
  • Identify quality risks early (timeline squeezes, scope creep, environmental issues, dependencies), escalate appropriately, and propose mitigation plans.
  • Lead root cause analysis of critical defects or production issues and ensure corrective & preventive actions are implemented.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed quality in requirements, designs, sprint planning, and release processes.
  • Drive process improvements optimize test workflows, increase automation, improve test environment stability, reduce manual effort.
  • Ensure QA processes are aligned with Agile / DevOps principles, continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines.
  • Monitor release readiness: ensure all quality gates are satisfied before sign-off.
  • Reporting responsibilities: collate and present metrics, maintain visibility of risks, escalate blockers, provide recommendations.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4-7 years in QA / Software Testing, with at least 3 years in a leadership/supervisory capacity.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps: setting up and managing test plans/suites, defect tracking, dashboards, test execution.
  • Good knowledge of both manual and automated testing; familiarity with automation frameworks and scripting.
  • Solid experience with metrics / KPIs / dashboards for QA, using data to drive decisions.
  • Risk management mindset – spotting risks early, assessing impact, creating mitigation strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills – able to report to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under tight timelines; multitask, prioritize, and maintain quality even with pressure.
