Job Title: Assistant Professor – EnglishDepartment: Humanities & Sciences (English)Job Location: ACE Engineering College, Ghatkesar

Job Summary:

The Assistant Professor of English will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate students, mentoring them in academic and professional growth, contributing to curriculum development, and engaging in research and institutional activities. The role requires strong communication skills, passion for teaching, and commitment to academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English language, literature, and communication skills courses as per the academic curriculum.
  • Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and innovative teaching methodologies.
  • Facilitate soft skills, business communication, and technical English training for students.
  • Evaluate, monitor, and mentor student performance through assignments, examinations, and projects.
  • Conduct remedial classes, seminars, and workshops for improving student proficiency.
  • Guide students in academic projects, research papers, and presentations.
  • Participate in curriculum design, syllabus updates, and departmental meetings.
  • Engage in research, paper publications, and academic development activities.
  • Assist in organizing departmental/college-level events such as debates, literary fests, seminars, and workshops.
  • Perform administrative and examination-related duties assigned by the department/college.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in English / English Literature / Applied Linguistics / Communication Skills with a minimum of 65% marks (or equivalent grade).
  • Ph.D. in English (preferred / as per UGC norms).
  • NET/SET qualified (mandatory as per UGC regulations, unless exempted).

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent command over English language and literature.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching aids, digital tools, and e-learning platforms.
  • Ability to mentor students in personality development, public speaking, and communication skills.
  • Research orientation with publications in reputed journals.
  • Teamwork, leadership, and student engagement abilities.

Experience:

  • 2–6 years of teaching/research experience (for entry-level).
  • Prior teaching or industry experience will be an added advantage.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
