Assistant Production Manager (PLYWOOD)

Looking for an experienced and responsible Assistant Production Manager to support and coordinate our daily production activities in the plywood manufacturing unit. The ideal candidate must have good technical knowledge of plywood production, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage workforce, quality, and production targets efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:1. Production Planning & Coordination

• Assist the Production Manager in planning daily/weekly production schedules.
• Ensure production targets and delivery timelines are met.
• Coordinate with departments like QC, Maintenance, Stores, and Dispatch.

2. Process & Operations Management

• Oversee production processes such as core veneer, face veneer, pressing, sanding, trimming, and packing.
• Monitor machine operations and ensure smooth functioning across all sections.
• Ensure proper utilisation of raw materials and maintain minimal wastage.

3. Workforce Management

• Supervise operators, supervisors, contractors, and labour teams.
• Allocate manpower as per production requirements.
• Maintain discipline, attendance, and productivity of the workforce.

4. Quality Control

• Ensure quality standards are followed during all production stages.
• Work closely with the QC team to reduce rejection, rework, and defects.
• Implement corrective actions for quality issues.

5. Machinery & Maintenance Coordination

• Report machine issues and coordinate with the maintenance team for timely repair.
• Ensure daily and weekly maintenance schedules are followed.

6. Safety & Compliance

• Follow and implement safety protocols and PPE rules.
• Monitor housekeeping and ensure a safe working environment.
• Comply with ISO, factory rules, and statutory requirements.

7. Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain daily production reports.
• Track production output, downtime, workforce allocation, and material usage.
• Assist in preparing MIS, cost reports, and performance reports.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹28,000.00 per month
