Job Summary:

Versa Drives Private Limited, a prominent player in the Electronics industry, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Manager – Purchase. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of procurement experience, with a strong focus on vendor development and strategic sourcing. The role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating effectively, and ensuring the timely procurement of electronic components to meet manufacturing demands.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute procurement strategies specifically for electronic components and materials. Identify, evaluate, and develop vendor relationships to ensure consistent supply, quality, and cost-efficiency.

Lead negotiations with suppliers on pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to maximize savings. Oversee purchase order processing, delivery tracking, and inventory management.

Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to forecast requirements accurately.

Conduct supplier evaluations, audits, and performance reviews regularly.

Ensure all procurement activities are compliant with industry standards, quality protocols, and company policies.

Maintain accurate documentation of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier agreements.

Monitor market trends, analyse price fluctuations, and identify new sourcing opportunities.

Resolve supply chain issues promptly, ensuring minimal impact on production.

Prepare reports on procurement performance, cost analysis, and vendor development initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Electrical and Electronics, Business Administration, or related field.

Minimum 4 years of procurement experience, preferably in the Electronics industry.

Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favourable terms.

Strong in Vendor Management, Vendor Development and Communication.

Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach. Strong analytical skills to interpret market data and component specifications.

Quick learner with the ability to adapt swiftly to industry changes. Proven experience in vendor development and relationship management.

Proficiency in ERP systems, procurement software, and MS Office.

Strong leadership abilities and effective communication skills.

Experience in sourcing electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, ICs, PCBs, etc.

Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data and component specifications.

Leadership skills to supervise junior procurement staff.

Knowledge of quality standards, certifications, and compliance regulations relevant to electronics manufacturing.

Preferred Attributes:

Knowledge of electronics industry trends and components.

Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

Willingness to take initiative and contribute to continuous improvement.

Experience working with international suppliers and import procedures is an advantage.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Adaptability in a fast-paced, dynamic industry environment.
