Assistant Manager – Supplier Quality

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular vendor audits, inspections, and quality reviews to ensure adherence to approved specifications and standards.
  
• Work closely with suppliers to identify process gaps, drive corrective & preventive actions, and ensure long-term quality improvements.
  
• Support new vendor onboarding by evaluating manufacturing capability, quality systems, and compliance readiness.
  
• Ensure first-off approvals and line validation at vendor sites for new developments.
  
• Monitor and track supplier quality KPIs (defect rate, rejections, CAPA closures, OTIF).
  
• Drive implementation of standard quality control practices at supplier end — including incoming inspection, functional tests, and documentation.
  
• Collaborate with internal teams (Packaging Development, Procurement, Operations) to align on quality standards and timelines.
  
• Escalate critical quality issues with strong root cause analysis and structured CAPA plans.
  
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with vendors to support growth and reliability of packaging supply.
  
• Prepare and present supplier quality reports and dashboards to leadership.
  

Qualifications & Skills:

• Graduate / Postgraduate in Packaging Technology / Engineering / related discipline.
  
• 5–7 years of experience in

  packaging supplier quality

  in FMCG or personal care industry.
• Strong understanding of packaging manufacturing processes (plastics, glass, printing, labels, cartons, tubes, etc.).
  
• Proven track record of conducting vendor audits, process improvements, and quality compliance.
  
• Hands-on experience with quality tools (CAPA, 5 Why, FMEA, RCA, SPC).
  
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  
• Comfortable with extensive travel (~80%) across vendor locations.
  
• Proficiency in MS Office and quality reporting.
