Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Some of the key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Sales Execution & Business Development

  • Develop, manage, and grow sales of APIs, Intermediates, KSMs, and Specialty Chemicals across Pan-India markets
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities independently, with a focus on strategic customers
  • Conduct regular customer visits, technical discussions, presentations, and customer engagement to support business development
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, including API manufacturers, generic companies, CROs, and CDMOs.
  • Achieve sales targets while ensuring sustainable long-term business partnerships
  • Support in pricing, negotiations, and contracts, ensuring profitability and compliance
  • Understand and track the product/project life cycle, keeping stakeholders informed and engaged

2. Customer Relationship Management

  • Develop strong relationships with key customers across industries
  • Resolve customer queries, manage escalations, and ensure satisfaction
  • Drive repeat business and upselling opportunities

3. Market Intelligence

  • Provide market intelligence on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs
  • Identify new applications or product opportunities across served locations

4. Operations & Collections

  • Ensure timely collections and adherence to credit policies
  • Coordinate with logistics and customer support teams to ensure timely deliveries and customer fulfilment
  • Maintain accurate records through CRM and internal systems.

Preferred candidate profile

  • In-depth understanding of the pharma industry value chain
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strong Key Account Management and Customer Relationship Building capability
  • Ability to understand technical product details and discuss with R&D/Procurement stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and passionate about sales and business development
  • Willingness to travel extensively across India
  • Good at MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Emails)
