Assistant Manager-Product Design

Role & responsibilities

• Receiving customer requirement through HOD/ Marketing / by market analysis for ECU TYPE HEADER CONNECTORS, FAKRA / RF CONNECTORS, FUSE BOXES / JUNCTION BOXES, OTHER PARTS - CLIPS, WIRE SEALS and Identify customer and product specific requirement
• Exposure to test standards IS/ISO/DIN
• Preparation of concepts for RFQ received
• Adhering to target dates for 3D model & 2D drawing release
• Identification and selection of suitable material and surface finish pertaining to product function
• Preparation of Engineering BOM for concept design
• Conduct concept review meeting with CFT for finalized concept and receive valuable feedback for enhancement of concept design
• Preparation of 3-D model and 2-D Drawings for concept design
• Preparation of assembly work flow of child parts and sub-assemblies
• Preparation of Engineering calculations for concept design (Stack up calculations, CAE, GD&T..)
• Estimation of prototype costs for concept design and approval from HOD/Management
• Assemble prototype samples for finalized concept design and perform basic product function test
• Improve the concept design based on testing and report submission to Management / HOD for approval
• Prepare and Submit technical proposal to marketing for the concept design along with test reports
• Responsible for technical discussions with Customer
• Achieve KPI Targets as fixed by management
• Effective utilization of Design Guidelines, SOP, Design Checklist, Standards/Library
• Report Management Weekly, Monthly, Design reviews
• Complete DFM sign off with tooling team for feasibility before design release
• Documentation and periodic updation of Design Documents Customer requirements, DFMEA, Engineering change management
• Awareness on problem solving techniques and APQP phase

Experience in the design and development of automotive connectors is a must
