Assistant Manager - HD Mapping

As an Assistant Manager - HD Maps at GlobalLogic, you play a crucial role in supporting the planning, execution, and delivery of high-precision digital maps for autonomous and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). Your responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, managing map data processing and quality, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the timely delivery of HD map products. **Key Responsibilities:** - Oversee the end-to-end HD map creation process: data acquisition, preprocessing, annotation, and validation. - Manage and monitor daily operations to meet project timelines and quality benchmarks. - Assign tasks, monitor progress, and support junior team members in their technical and operational duties. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including GIS analysts, software developers, QA, and field data teams. - Coordinate with project managers to track deliverables, milestones, and risks. - Conduct regular status meetings and generate project reports for stakeholders. - Review and validate HD map layers including lanes, traffic signs, road geometry, and landmarks using tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or custom platforms. - Ensure data alignment with standards like OpenDRIVE, NDS, or custom formats used in autonomous vehicle applications. - Identify and troubleshoot issues in map data or processing pipelines. - Implement and monitor QA/QC processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project specifications. - Support continuous improvement by documenting issues, proposing solutions, and optimizing workflows. - Provide mentorship, training, and support to mapping operators, technicians, and analysts. - Ensure adherence to operational protocols and safety standards, especially in field data operations (if applicable). **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor's degree in Geoinformatics, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Remote Sensing, or related field. - 10+ years of experience in digital mapping, HD maps, GIS, or a related domain. - Experience in managing mapping teams or projects preferred. - Proficiency in mapping/GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, Global Mapper). - Working knowledge of HD map formats (OpenDRIVE, NDS, Lanelet2). - Familiarity with LiDAR, GPS, IMU data, and point cloud processing. - Basic scripting (Python, SQL) or data handling skills are a plus. - Strong organizational and communication skills. - Proven ability to manage teams and multiple concurrent projects. - Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
