Assistant Manager - EHS

Job Summary

To ensure safe & healthy working environment in the Company. Protection of environment from industrial operations.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• 
  
• To advise & assist the management in the fulfillment of its obligations, statutory or otherwise concerning prevention of personal injuries and maintaining a safe & healthy working environment.
• 
  
• To advise concerned departments in planning & organizing measures necessary for the effective control of personal injuries.
• 
  
• To advise on safety aspects in all job studies & to carry out detailed job safety studies of selected job.
• 
  
• To check & evaluate the effectiveness of action taken or proposed to be taken to prevent injuries.
• 
  
• To advise on matters related to carrying out plant safety inspections.
• 
  
• To advise the purchasing & stores departments in ensuring high quality and availability of personal protective equipment.
• 
  
• To carry out plant safety inspections in order to observe the physical conditions of work and the work practices and procedures followed by the workers.
• 
  
• To render advice on matters related to reporting and investigation of industrial accident & diseases. Also, to give suitable training & educational programs for the prevention of injuries.
• 
  
• Maintain such records which are necessary relating to accident, statutory requirement, personal protective equipment and safety.
• 
  
• Daily safety rounds for prevention of unsafe condition and unsafe practices by employees.
• 
  
• Setting up safety committee and conduct safety meetings and safety audits.
• 
  
• Provide specific protective equipment as per risk and insist for daily usage and Implement and fulfill statutory requirements of Factories Act, 1948, OSHAS 18001 and any other law applicable.

• Organize competitions and contests and other activities during safety week, environment day and fire service week for develop and maintain the interest of the workers in establishing and maintaining safe conditions of work and also Liaison with relevant Govt. authorities for EHS.

For This Role, You Will Need:

The incumbent should possess Advance Diploma In Industrial Safety from MSBTE with Graduation in environmental field with more 12 to 15 years experience in relevant field and industry.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

• Awareness of first aid & fire fighting procedures.
• 
  
• Awareness of personnel protective equipments.
• 
  
• Knowledge of various standards like OHSAS 18001:2007, ISO 14001:2004, SA 8000.
• 
  
• Should be certified lead auditor/internal auditor for IMS
•
