Assistant Manager - Design & Development

1.Execute the design and development of assigned detail hardware and/or welded assemblies associated with Hull Structures and peripheral mechanical hardware including Hatches, Access Panels, and Covers & Guards across all vehicle platforms.
2.Operating within cross-functional teams supporting program deliverables related to technical requirements,3.Developing detail design concepts using CAE tools and ensuring developed concepts meet all technical requirements.4.Collaborating with engineering peers within the project team to ensure developed concepts support a balanced system level approach that achieves the necessary performance requirements.5.Collaborating with Survivability lead for maturing design concepts to a production-ready state6.Provide support, as required, for testing and verification of developed hardware.7.Provide support for Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis to resolve identified technical issues with prototype and/or production hardware.8.Working knowledge of PLM, CAE & CFD software is must.9.Should be able to make DFMEA, DVP and assisting T&V team for trials.10.Establish Robust DMU checking process and Design Verification on vehicle.11.Ensure ease of assembly, serviceability in DMU12.Design Releases, system Weight monitoring in Design as well as on proto13.Handle & facilitate to resolve plant build as well as field product concerns.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:

• Experience in executing designs from paper to physical hardware calculation and overseeing their successful integration at a system level is required.
  •Strong fundamentals in Strength of Materials, Machine design, Fatigue.•Ability to independently prepare the CAE model in Hypermesh software, prepare input deck and perform analysis in Nastran & LS-Dyna software, perform post-processing in Hyperview & LS Pre-Post.•Experience with RCCA methods is required.•Good Knowledge of CAE/CAD tools Preferably LS-Dyna, CATIA/Pro E & Windchill (Product Life Cycle Management) tools•Ability to prepare DFMEA, DVP & analyse data.•Knowledge of automobile, defense vehicle & its application•Excellent presentation & communication skills•Good knowledge of Defence technology, trends•Strong knowledge of system aggregate design & their integration•Knowledge of Problem-solving techniques & its application•Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing methods is required.•Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

DESIRED QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

Minimum Qualification : Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering/ Specialization
Required Software Competency : CAE (2D/3D) Software ( CREO/CATIA/LS-Dyna/Hypermesh)Minimum years of experience : 3-5 YearsIndustry preference : Defence/Automobile
