Design Development Engineer -Switch Design

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for making Electromechanical Design (2D+3D).
• Responsible for understanding customer requirement (SOR) & Generate design concepts.
• Responsible for Handlebar Switch product design with its complete 2W Handlebar Assy. procedure.
• Responsible for DFMEA & Engineering, calculation & Documentation.
• Responsible for DFM/DFA. & Handlebar Assy Line implementation.
• Responsible for material selection.
• Responsible for Documentation regarding Design as per IATF.
• Responsible for VA-VE & Cost Reduction.
• Responsible for 5s & departmental activity.
• Responsibility for making Technical Presentation.
• Responsible to attend QAV audit.
• Responsible for Change management (ECN/ECRN)
• Responsible for Preliminary costing BOM preparation.
• Responsible for competitor benchmarking.
• Responsible for proto sample preparation & Testing.
• Responsible for 5S & departmental activity.
• Responsible for FTO Search & Patent filing of Concept.

Requirements:

• Proficient in 3D and 2D CAD modelling. Previous experience with CAD modelling software like Creo/ProE

& Auto CAD.

• Knowledge and experience of working with diverse manufacturing processes like Castings, Machining, Welding,

Plastic molding, Sheet Metal, Plating, etc.

• Good knowledge about Handlebar Assy costing ideas.
• Good Knowledge in Handlebar Switches product.
• Good Knowledge about 2W EE applications.
• Experience in Documentation of Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA/ DFMEA) for Mechanical Systems
• Well versed with GD&T.
• Good Knowledge of Engg. Calculation & planned drg. Preparation.
• Detailed "Design for Manufacturability" knowledge across a wide range of fabrication/manufacturing processes.
• Experience with designing and testing complex electromechanical systems.
• Thorough knowledge of materials and material properties.

• Strong ability to convert customer requirements into detailed and robust designs.
• Ability to learn things quickly & adapt to a dynamic, fast paced work environment.
• Knowledge of basic electronics is an added advantage.
• Good in behavioral skills (Team Participation, Interpersonal skill, Persuasiveness, Self-disciplined, Conflict resolution &

Communication).
