Assistant Manager/ Deputy Manager- Finance

Role & responsibilities

- Manage daily operations of the Accounts Payable team, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

- Review, process, and approve vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and payment runs (weekly/monthly) in line with cash flow requirements.

- Monitor AP aging reports and resolve vendor disputes or discrepancies promptly.

- Reconcile AP sub-ledger with the General Ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

- Implement and strengthen internal controls to prevent fraud and errors.

- Collaborate with procurement, vendors, and internal teams to resolve invoice and payment issues.

- Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.

- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS), tax regulations (GST, TDS, VAT), and company policies.

- Prepare documentation and schedules for internal and external audits.

- Lead, mentor, and guide AP team members, providing regular feedback and training.

- Drive process improvements and identify opportunities for automation to enhance efficiency.

Maintain vendors master data with accuracy, ensuring proper documentation and compliance

Preferred candidate profile

- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and accounting principles.

- Proficiency in SAP Hana ERP systems and MS Excel.

- Basic understanding of local and international tax regulations (GST, TDS, VAT).

- High attention to detail and accuracy.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Team management and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).

- Professional certification (e.g., CA Inter, CPA, CMA) is a plus.

- 6–10 years of relevant experience in accounts payable, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or assistant managerial role.
