Job Title:

IT Assistant In-Charge Retail Operations (POS / ERP / Network Support)

Position Summary:

IT Assistant In-Charge

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of IT support staff.
  • Prioritize IT tickets and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Mentor, train, and evaluate team members for performance and skill development.

2. IT Operations & System Support

  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware, software, and networking equipment.
  • Ensure uninterrupted operation of business-critical systems such as POS and ERP (SAP preferred).
  • Monitor system performance and coordinate escalations with vendors or advanced support when required.

3. Network & Security Management

  • Manage LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi networks, and server environments.
  • Implement IT security measures, including antivirus, firewalls, user access controls, and regular backups.
  • Schedule and manage updates, patches, and data recovery procedures.

4. User Support & Cross-Department Coordination

  • Serve as the main escalation point for complex or high-impact technical issues.
  • Train users on software tools, IT processes, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Facilitate smooth communication between IT and other departments.

5. Asset & License Management

  • Maintain up-to-date IT asset inventory, license tracking, and warranty documentation.
  • Handle procurement and safe disposal of IT hardware and software in compliance with policy.
  • Ensure documentation of systems and processes is well-maintained.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education:

    Bachelors degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience:

    35 years in IT support roles, with at least 12 years in a supervisory or lead position.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.
  • Strong understanding of networking: LAN/WAN, routers, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Hands-on experience with POS systems and ERP platforms (SAP experience is a strong advantage).
  • Familiar with data backup systems, security protocols, and endpoint protection tools.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities under pressure.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in the

    retail industry

    or

    multi-location IT support

    setup.
  • Background in ITIL-based service management or similar process-oriented environments.
