Assistant General Manager - Projects

Role Overview

The Assistant General Manager – Projects will lead and manage end-to-end project operations for the CCS vertical in the Bengaluru region. This role requires strong leadership, strategic execution, and technical expertise in electrical contracting. The AGM will ensure that all city-level projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in line with organizational standards. The ideal candidate will drive operational excellence, strengthen client relationships, and support business growth for the region.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Operations & Planning

• Develop and implement project execution strategies aligned with regional business goals.
  
• Track project performance to ensure profitability, efficiency, and timely completion.
  
• Identify operational gaps and introduce process improvements and best practices.
  

2. Project Execution & Delivery

• Lead planning, scheduling, and execution of electrical contracting projects.
  
• Ensure adherence to safety norms, quality benchmarks, and regulatory requirements.
  
• Resolve site-level challenges by coordinating with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  

3. Team Leadership & Development

• Manage and mentor project managers, engineers, supervisors, and site teams.
  
• Support recruitment and capability-building initiatives for the Projects function.
  
• Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning.
  

4. Client & Stakeholder Management

• Maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
  
• Act as the escalation point for operational or site-related issues.
  
• Work closely with Sales and BD teams to align proposals with operational capability.
  

5. Financial Management

• Manage project budgets, cost control measures, and resource allocation.
  
• Monitor billing, invoicing, cash flow, and project-level financial performance.
  
• Conduct periodic reviews to ensure achievement of profitability targets.
  

6. Compliance, Safety & Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations.
  
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies across project sites.
  
• Conduct audits, inspections, and reviews to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
  

7. Business Development Support

• Partner with BD teams to identify and pursue new project opportunities.
  
• Provide operational insights for tenders, proposals, and client presentations.
  
• Support initiatives to expand CCS vertical presence within the Bengaluru region.
  

Experience & Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in electrical contracting, project management, or related operations leadership roles.
  
• Proven experience managing large-scale MEP/electrical projects and leading diverse teams.
  
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or related engineering discipline.
