About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Director with strong video editing skills to support our production team. This role combines the responsibilities of assisting the Director during shoots with hands-on involvement in the editing process. The ideal candidate should be organized, creative, and capable of turning concepts into impactful visual content.

Key ResponsibilitiesAs an Assistant Director

• Assist the Director in planning, organizing, and executing shoots.
• Manage shooting schedules, call sheets, and daily production coordination.
• Communicate with cast, crew, and departments to ensure smooth workflow.
• Handle on-set responsibilities like shot breakdowns, continuity, and logistics.
• Support in brainstorming and developing creative concepts.

As a Video Editor

• Edit raw footage into engaging, high-quality videos.
• Add transitions, graphics, music, subtitles, and sound design.
• Ensure video output aligns with the Director’s vision and brand guidelines.
• Organize project files, footage, and maintain backups.
• Deliver content optimized for multiple platforms (YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Assistant Director or in a similar production role.
• Proficiency in editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, or DaVinci Resolve).
• Strong understanding of storytelling, shot composition, and continuity.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
• Based in Chennai (preferred for on-site shoots).

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of cinematography basics and camera operations.
• Motion graphics / animation familiarity.
• Awareness of digital content and social media video formats.
