Assistant Banquet Manager

The JW Marriott Hotel Bengaluru is looking for an Entry Level Management position in Event Management to lead the banquet staff and assist in executing events based on requirements and standards. As a Management Position, you will be responsible for developing and directing the team to provide consistent, high-quality service, communicating performance expectations, and training staff in processes, while managing financial and administrative duties. You will be managing departmental operations and inventories, including maintaining inventory levels and equipment, conducting monthly meetings with Banquet captains and employees, enforcing sanitation levels, and ordering department supplies. Additionally, you will be responsible for scheduling banquet service staff, maximizing profits, and ensuring employee awareness of event phase portions. Your role will also involve participating in and leading banquet teams by attending meetings, actively participating in event servicing, and broadening knowledge of food, wine pairings, and event presentation. You will set a positive example for guest relations, handle guest feedback, problems, and complaints, and empower employees to provide excellent customer service. In terms of Human Resources activities, you will be responsible for interviewing and hiring Banquet captains and employees, supporting new hire training programs, ensuring employees understand expectations, providing feedback on service behaviors, and participating in corrective action plans. You will also communicate and execute departmental and property emergency procedures and ensure staff are trained in safety procedures.
