IBM i (AS/400) RPG/RPGLE Developer

Industry & Sector:

IT services and system integration focused on enterprise application development, legacy systems support, and modernization for Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, and Manufacturing clients. Seeking on-site engineering talent to maintain and evolve mission-critical IBM i (AS/400) applications that support high-volume transactions and batch processing.Role & Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain RPG/RPGLE programs and CL jobs on IBM i (AS/400) for transactional and batch systems.
Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement stable fixes to minimise downtime.
Optimize DB2 for i queries, file layouts, and program logic to improve throughput and reduce processing windows.
Implement interfaces and integrations (service programs, stored procedures, APIs) for downstream systems and middleware.
Participate in code reviews, release activities, and change-control processes; produce clear technical documentation.
Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and operations; mentor junior developers to raise team capability.
