AR Specialist

About the role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist with hands-on experience in Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) and vision billing. In this role, you will be responsible for tracking, managing, and collecting payments for vision and medical claims, ensuring timely reimbursement, reducing accounts receivable aging, and maintaining financial accuracy across all patient accounts.

This is a remote position, requiring excellent virtual collaboration and communication skills to effectively engage with internal teams and clients across different time zones.

Project Leadership & Execution

• Lead the end-to-end execution of Accounts Receivable (AR) and billing-related projects, ensuring that claims are processed, tracked, and reimbursed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Design and implement scalable project strategies for revenue cycle optimization that align with internal goals and client expectations.
• Manage multiple concurrent billing initiatives with precision, balancing scope, timelines, and financial targets.
• Oversee system readiness for billing and AR workflows, ensuring that SightView solutions are properly configured and optimized for client use.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Act as a liaison for clients during the implementation of billing solutions, ensuring all inquiries and escalations are resolved with professionalism.
• Provide proactive consultation to clients regarding AR trends, workflow adjustments, and system optimization.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including product, engineering, and support teams to ensure seamless service delivery and adherence to expectations.
• Tailor client communication and training approaches based on their technological proficiency and organizational readiness.
• Drive client satisfaction and trust by aligning solutions with their revenue cycle goals and enhancing claim processing efficiency.

Risk Mitigation & Compliance Management

• Enforce compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, and implement controls to safeguard sensitive financial and patient data
• Identify and mitigate risks related to reimbursement, claim rejections, and AR aging, ensuring minimal financial disruption.
• Maintain strict adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and ensure that all project deliverables align with legal and contractual obligations.
• Promote continuous improvement in RCM processes by implementing compliance-focused best practices.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of data security throughout all aspects of billing and AR operations.

Process Optimization & Technical Oversight

• Direct system configuration and integration efforts, ensuring smooth data exchange through SFTP, APIs, and third-party platforms.
• Oversee the development and execution of automated workflows for claims processing, reimbursement tracking, and account reconciliation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify system enhancements based on client feedback and AR performance data.
• Apply analytical thinking to identify root causes of AR inefficiencies and propose structured technical solutions.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certifications in medical billing, office administration, or healthcare a plus.
• At least one year of experience preferred; equivalent skills or strong learning aptitude considered in an ophthalmology office, healthcare administration, or billing environment.
• Knowledge of practice management systems (e.g., iMedicware, My Vision Express, Athenahealth, NextGen, etc.) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Understanding of insurance billing processes and basic RCM principles.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
