Apprentice Baker

As an Apprentice Baker at LOAF, the artisanal bakery by BetterGreens, you will have the opportunity to join a passionate team dedicated to modern and traditional baking techniques. Your role will involve supporting the daily production of breads, sourdoughs, viennoiserie, and pastries. You will assist in mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety. Additionally, you will help with inventory management, ingredient prep, and documentation, upholding LOAF's values for quality, sustainability, and zero waste. Your initiative in tasks and contribution to overall kitchen efficiency will be valued. Key Responsibilities: - Support daily production of breads, sourdoughs, viennoiserie, and pastries. - Assist in mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking. - Follow recipes, technical instructions, and production schedules accurately. - Maintain the highest standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety. - Ensure workstations, tools, and equipment are cleaned and organised at all times. - Help with inventory management, ingredient prep, and basic documentation. - Uphold LOAF's values for quality, sustainability, and zero waste. - Take initiative in tasks and contribute to overall kitchen efficiency. We prioritize attitude over experience and look for candidates who possess qualities such as discipline, punctuality, cleanliness & hygiene, good attitude, and willingness to learn. Your passion and attitude matter the most, and no formal baking experience is required. A basic understanding of kitchen work is an added advantage, along with the ability to work early mornings and handle physical, hands-on tasks.
