Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

Application Management

  • Install, configure, and maintain enterprise applications (custom and off-the-shelf).
  • Ensure application availability, performance, and security in production and non-production environments.
  • Apply patches, upgrades, and hotfixes as required.

Monitoring & Support

  • Monitor application logs, performance metrics, and availability dashboards.
  • Troubleshoot incidents, resolve user issues, and escalate to L2/L3/vendor teams as needed.
  • Provide support during releases, migrations, and deployments.

Security & Compliance

  • Apply security best practices (access controls, encryption, SSL certificates, vulnerability patches).
  • Maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments on application environments.

Collaboration & Operations

  • Work closely with developers, DBAs, OS admins, and network teams for integrated application support.
  • Support DevOps/CI-CD processes, deployment automation, and change management.
  • Maintain application documentation, runbooks, and SOPs.

Performance & Optimization

  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
  • Suggest enhancements and tuning for improved efficiency.
  • Conduct capacity planning and forecast future resource needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in application administration or support.
  • Strong knowledge of

    application servers (WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat, IIS)

    .
  • Familiarity with

    databases (Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL)

    .
  • Hands-on experience with

    Linux/Unix and Windows server environments

    .
  • Basic scripting knowledge (Shell, PowerShell, Python) for automation.
